What would you like to talk about today? Or maybe I will just go at my own steam rambling about random things. Some that may matter to me and some not.
I will start this week with a question that gets asked often to authors, poets. Even I have encountered this in the very few interviews I have done as a published poet.
“What is your inspiration?”. Could be my inspiration to write, poems, books whatever. This totally got me thinking. What has really inspired me enough to put my pen to work?
There is no profound Eureka moment that Newton had. Or if you have read the quote at the beginning you might think that’s it, but no. My books or poems are not something I have always wanted to read but never seen it anywhere. No. My writings are more a way of expressing my feelings on some very common everyday things. Maybe you may relate to it.
I realize now that there is no concrete answer to that question till date for me. I could be staring out of a window with a cup of steaming coffee in hand and the smell of coffee could have inspired me. From the breeze on the trees, tweet of birds to the sound of flowing water. Heck! even something as mundane as a chair or a table, serious issues like child abuse or women empowerment, anything could have inspired me.
If any of you get a chance to read my first debut poetry book, Voice-Bouquet of Feelings, you would know. It is a widely different collection of poems.
My second book, ‘Rainbow on the Horizon‘, in the meantime seem to follow a common theme, pathos and hope running through it.
And unexpectedly, the poems in my Anthology “Stories from India- Vol 1” is entirely different from my writings so far. Also, it’s definitely longer.
